Social Capital and Loan Repayment Capacity of Agripreneurial Groups' in Abia State, Nigeria

Entrepreneurship is the ability to take significant amount of risk while managing and organizing a new or existing business enterprise with sole motive making profits. Agricultural entrepreneurship, also known as agripreneurship farmers farm firms substantial risks producing, managing, directing marketing their agricultural produce. Agripreneurs are entrepreneurs. Selected social capital variables such years membership in groups/organizations, number meeting attendance, cash labour contributions members, etc., were incorporated into research determine agripreneurs’ loan repayment capacity Abia State, Nigeria. A multi-stage purposive sampling technique was employed select respondents. Greater percentage agripreneurs male. Mainstream them active productive age, hence could form groups for easy access credit loans respective enterprises. The agripreneurial groups’ sourced from money lenders, ROSCA (Rotating Savings Credit Association), family friends/relatives. Others sources through microfinance banks, commercial self-help groups, cooperative societies savings collectors/mobile bankers. Majority regarded good risk. major factors affecting trust, assets, interest rate duration. should be encouraged participate more actively group activities, not just what they can benefit but give; effective participation accelerates pooled resources.
